2nd Hamburg Workshop on Sustainability-Oriented Business Models – Using the “Triple-Layered Business Model Canvas” (May 19, 2015)

On May 19th, 2015, the University of Hamburg and its Faculty of Business, Economics & Social Sciences host a hands-on workshop on “Design of More Sustainable Business Models”. It will be facilitated by Alexandre Joyce who is an eco-innovation advisor at the Institute for Product Development in Montréal, Canada. This workshop is the second in a series dedicated to sustainability-oriented business models presented by the University of Hamburg. The first workshop in December 2014 introduced the “Flourishing Business Canvas”.

This workshop by Alexandre Joyce will enable participants to develop new business models to take into account the challenges of sustainable development. To do this, a new canvas tool that is in the final stages of publication will be introduced. This tool, the “Triple-Layered Business Model Canvas”, is used to rethink not only the business model, but also its environmental life cycle and stakeholder relationships. Based on years of research and interdisciplinary efforts to prove its applicability the “Triple-Layered Business Model Canvas” represents a new generation of business modelling tools (layout based on the original Business Model Canvas). An earlier presentation of the background research to the triple layered canvas can be found here and more recent thought pieces on his blog.

We invite students and researchers from all fields of social and sustainability sciences as well as entrepreneurs and managers concerned about the integration of environmental and social sustainability into their organizations. Participants are invited to register for free. Registration is required since this event is limited to 25 participants only (e-mail below).
